Pemberton Mountain Bike Park

Again for 2016, PDMBC brings an exciting new All Mountain race format to Western Australia. The event format varies from race to race depending on the location, with key elements consisting of timed runs down a mostly downhill trail (moderately technical), with riding back to the top. Multiple race runs per day on different trails can be expected with the winner having the lowest aggregate time. Points from both events in the Gravity Club series count toward the series winner. You will be able to race the Roller events on almost all types of mountain bike, ensuring that it that your bike fit the clubs safe standards. Front and rear brakes, working suspension and bar ends.

The last Peel Districts Mountain Bike Club (PDMBC) Event of the year is the Gravity Club Roller held in Pemberton on 5th & 6th November . The event is held at the Pemberton Mountain Bike Park at the Pool on both days, and is accompanied by the Club’s end of year presentations and State Series Presentations on Saturday night at the Pemberton Sports Club.

PRIZES FOR THE BEST FANCY DRESS – for Racing and also for the Presentation Dinner.

Dinner and club presentations have been organised for Saturday night following the first half of the race. State Series Presentations and General Club Presentations will be held during the dinner, starting at 6.30pm at the Pemberton Sports Club. A special priced Buffet Dinner will be available for purchase when attending the Presentation Dinner Approx cost $20 per person (Adults). Pay on attending to get your dinner plate.

Accommodation options are also available, with more details below. Numbers are limited so book early when registering online for your event to avoid disappointment.

Race entry costs $45 for adult categories and U19s, and $35 for juniors. A day license ($25) is also required if you are not a current MTBA member. Registrations at the event are open from 12pm-1.30pm Saturday only and will attract a $20 additional late fee. MTBA card will need to be shown at rego for proof of membership (day licenses available).

Saturday practice & Sunday morning event is held at the amazing Pemberton Mountain Bike Park, located at the Pemberton Swimming Pool, Swimming Pool Rd. http://www.pembertonvisitor.com.au/pages/pemberton-mountain-bike-park  

Saturday practice starts at 1230pm. Racing starts at 2pm. This year Saturday will commence at the Pemberton Mountain Bike Park, so park at the swimming pool and you will be directed from there. The first days tracks will finish at the Trout Farm.

There will be a BBQ available for a small fee at the event for:

Saturday lunch

Sunday breakfast (set up at the trout farm/ finish line)

Sunday lunch

Sunday Practice is open at 8am, with racing starting at 10am. There will be several stages and we aim to have racing finished by 1pm. Presentations for the race and 2016 Gravity Club Series will commence immediately afterward and we aim to have everything done by 2pm. Help with cleaning up and packing up will be appreciated as this will get us all on the road on time.

Minimum Protective equipment: knee pads with shorts, helmet, gloves. A Full face helmet is recommended! Handle bars must have Bar ends or Plugs. Full race rules can be found by clicking here

There is a two minute penalty if you miss your start gate. Any runs after the first will be held in the same order as the first, with a designated time period allowed to get back to the top of the trail following any run

All Riders must sign on before practicing the course. Riding the course without being entered will result in – First Offense- Verbal Warning, Second Offence-1 Race Ban. Third Offense – Season Ban.

Only riders and designated officials wearing a helmet, and displaying a valid Number Plate on the front of the bike, will be allowed onto the course during official practice sessions. Number Plates to be displayed at all times, if plate is lost, you will need to acquire another for the nominal fee at registration. Your Plate must visible and legible at all times.

This is a club level series, aimed to be low cost, easy to participate in and most importantly fun.

Volunteers for Marshalling are needed! If we don’t have the right amount of marshals on both days then we don’t start on time. Please let us know prior to the event if you can or have a family member or friend that can help. 

We need:

  • 5-6 Marshalls (no experience needed)
  • 2-3 people to help setup and dismantle
  • Canteen Assistant to help with lunches.
