The Gritz Hitz The Switch
Saturdays practice was pretty good a few small showers kept riders on their toes and on their nose, Peel had made a few small changes to the course with the removal of the log rollover close to the start replacing it with a small ski jump to mud, and further down a squirmy tight left hander leading to the rocky shoots onto the fire road. A few mishaps for a few unlucky punters kept the Ambos pumpin with one dude thinking the old femur had cracked but once the docs gave the all clear at A&E he was relieved to only have a mad cork, and if youve ever had a decent one it does feel like something has broke. Any way that put a holt to prctice because their was no ambulance so most riders shut it down and headed home to clean bikes and get ready for Sundays racing and the weather people were forecasting 17 and squally winds with heavy rain mmmm lovely!

Deon Akin To Start Bakin
With Mik awol with shoulder problems from last weekend and the Dan the thriller from Manila on work duties in 2 stroke land it left the Elite field wide open for some new blood to stand up and own the stage. If you werent running mud tyres or atleast “Swamp Things” you could pretty for get about it but a couple of crafty candidates somehow put it together on dry tyres to finish with respectable times. Racing started and it remained dry right up until about sport/expert started and then it started pissing down solid and i mean solid even local favourite Matty Bellerina hit the kill switch and went home to get warm and start sippin on the potion. Triggaz and myself got to the end on our first runs nice and clean and went through the finish line the same as it was the week before but soon found out as I rolled across the new finish to find that they had moved it 20 metres further down oh well! The rain kept coming for round two and a lot of riders were asking themselves what the F–k are we thinking but we all bused it up and hit it like it was dry, I went into the shoot and got in the groove nice and so did a rock the size of a carton of vb’s so with all my weight back and no chance of lifting the front wheel I went over the bars and ate shit, Triggaz came up behind me and I yelled out to watch out for the rock but he mirrored my move nicely Bryn made it past and I followed letting it all go but coming up to the S’s before the 3 steps I went a little hot and lost it and made love to a black boy! I aint no racialist? everyone pissed themselves so I went down and got change and joined Belerina.
Top 30 and only 10 were willing to take up the challenge Gritzy pulled 1st in the race runs on his new “Malaga Cycles” prepared Giant Glory all the guys came down filthy with the mad Cinamon Frenchy on his STP seperating his sack on the top tube good work, Paul “Green Flames” ate shit as he entered the last section, Deon looked solid, the dude on the custom M3 (sorry i forgot your name) was smooth as usual, the Dobbson twins fixed their munted heads courtesy of tld, that litte punk thats annoying Choko with his GT looked quick and had a tasty line before the steps and Gritzy just somehow held speed all the way down to take it out with the dude on the custom M3 and Deon “Bakers Delight” roundind of the 3. Something that will stick in my mind and Iam sure alot of guys and girls wont forget is my old mate Trigglet coming hot of the fireroad into the shoot and somehow loosing his forks in a “BIG HOLE” right in front of all the boys! so he gets up and wasnt finished so back in he went Ha!Ha!
