Round 2 has been won and lost.

The club would like to sincerely thank all volunteers and marshals for putting up with the extreme weather conditions on Sunday, without these volunteers we the rider would not have been able to race. I would also like to thank the handful of people that helped grab all the bunting and crash pads off the track and help pick up all the rubbish that was left behind by riders.

It was at this point I could have cancelled all the state rounds and state champs. It is not up to the club and its small group of volunteers to walk around after an event and pick-up after you. I understand that we all have gear, tents to put away, have homes to go to and distances to travel but many hands make light work and we all can go home at a reasonable hour.

I can’t stress enough the need for additional help and volunteers at each round.  We need people to rotate marshalling over the weekend so Saturday’s Volunteers don’t do Sunday as well. If you know someone that can help out with the club on the race weekends they can either e-mail the club in advance or talk to Kerry, Carl or Dave on the day.

Cheers Paul

A big thank-you

I would like to thank all our volunteers and the members of our committee for making our 1st round in Albany as successful one.  Without the commitment of these people our series would not have started.

As many people know there were a few challenges on the day with the timing gear. As a result a few errors were made.

The times and points have been fixed.

I’m asking if those who received medals could you please bring them to the next race in Dwellingup up so we can hand to right medals to the right people?

Thank-you for understanding

Cheers Paul

Official results for the first state round. Mt Clarence, Albany on 8/4/2012.

Here are the final, official results for the first state round, all championship points will be based upon these.

Due to technical difficulties experienced on Sunday, the results announced were based on an incomplete data sync.  All timed runs have now been uploaded and this has obviously altered some of the rankings.

Our sincerest apologies for the HUGE teething problems we had using the unfamiliar software on the day. These issues have now been remedied and will NOT be a problem for future rounds. We would like to thank all riders, their families and friends for their patience and support, you’ve been fantastic.

Cheers

Logging in Dwellingup

I can tell you now that the Forestry department will be starting logging on the Murray valley side as of this week and this will go on till September.  They will then start on Tom’s Crossing side after that and this will continue through 2013.

We are able to race at Tom’s for another year and then it’s more a suck it and see where the logging is at.

The logging will consist of a complete logging and clearing of the land; after the land is cleared it will be turned back into native forest again. This is where we as mountain bikers are being given the opportunity to go in and design and develop trails. This has been handed to WAMBA to be the overall controller.

A Big thank-you

Bus driver required

The club is in desperate NEED for a bus driver for this weekend. We as the club have exhausted our contacts to no avail. If we do not get a bus driver there will be no Saturday practice and only one bus on Sunday. This is where you can help yourself and the club by getting a friend or family member to help us out. They will require a HR or more licence.

They can contact me on 0438 606 135
